First conceptualized on the Baltimore courthouse steps in 1999 during a live tax foreclosure sale (in the rain!), Bid4Assets was created to make the public foreclosure process easier for buyers and sellers alike. The platform allows government agencies to conduct virtual tax and mortgage foreclosure sales and surplus property auctions entirely online, resulting in higher participation rates and returns.
Since its inception, Bid4Assets has registered over 850,000 registered real estate bidders and sold over 125,000 properties, generating more than $1 billion in county sale proceeds.
Bid4Assets takes the stress out of auction day by providing administrative support, in-house customer service, marketing, and funds management. Spend less time doing paperwork and more time on your top priority: serving people.
Virtual auctions result in increased participation from local buyers, eliminate opportunities for collusion or bidder intimidation, and offer a central platform for first-time bidders to explore available properties.
Regardless of size, population or rate of foreclosures, every county has properties stuck in their books, in many cases struggling for years to find a buyer.
Bid4Assets is ready to sell those properties, bringing more bidders to your auctions and proceeds to your office as a result. Fill out the form below to start the conversation about your current public sale process.
Between pioneering our process in new markets to record-breaking auctions, see examples below of how Bid4Assets is forging the future of foreclosure.
In late 2018, Bid4Assets brought our 20+ years of experience in county real property sales to South Carolina, partnering with Beaufort County Tax Collector Kimberly Chesney to host the county’s first-ever online forfeited land sale. The two-day sale was viewed over 15,000 times by bidders and quickly sold several properties the county had struggled for years to return to the tax rolls.
In September 2021, the Franklin County, Pennsylvania sheriff’s office contracted with Bid4Assets to transition their court-mandated foreclosure auctions off the courthouse steps and onto the best-selling platform for virtual sheriff’s sales.
Working alongside your staff, Bid4Assets creates a custom webpage for your sale, complete with automated updating property lists, terms of sale, and step-by-step instructions for new bidders
Bid4Assets promotes your sales’ webpage in an all-expenses-paid marketing campaign targeting potential buyers in your local market, as well as our own database of over 850,000 registered bidders
Our account management team collects deposits to qualify potential bidders as needed while providing your office with detailed reporting on registered bidders and page view counts for individual auction pages
When bidding opens, Bid4Assets conducts the sale on your behalf, while our system provides bidders with auto-bid, overtime and bidder-on-deck functionality
After the auction, Bid4Assets collects settlement funds and vesting information. We send both to your office along with a final report providing contact info for all winning bidders
We’ll do it all again! Bid4Assets is equipped to maintain your sale schedule regardless of frequency, with bidders having the option to transfer deposits at the end of each auction set
